Welcome May, our month of Release.

- Making Room for the New -

Revival cannot be carried with clenched fists. What God pours out must be held by open hands. May calls us into the sacred act of release, letting go of what no longer aligns with the life God is birthing with us.

Scripture reminds us, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:18–19).

Release is not denial of the past; it is refusal to live imprisoned by it.

Biblically, release is a prerequisite for forward movement. Israel could not enter the Promised Land while longing for Egypt. Lot’s wife looked back and became immobilized.

Paul declares, “Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on” (Philippians 3:13–14).

Revival advances when we disengage from what God has already finished. May confronts emotional and spiritual attachments, unhealed wounds, unforgiveness disguised as caution, identities shaped by pain rather than promise. Jesus teaches that forgiveness is not optional for freedom:

“If you forgive others… your heavenly Father will also forgive you” (Matthew 6:14).

Holding on binds us; releasing liberates us.

What we refuse to release eventually controls us. Release also involves surrendering expired seasons. God works in times and seasons (Ecclesiastes 3:1). What sustained you before may hinder you now.

Abraham had to leave his father’s house; Elisha had to burn his plow. Letting go creates space for increase.

“No one pours new wine into old wineskins” (Luke 5:37).

Revival requires new capacity.

May declares a powerful truth:

• What you release will no longer define you.

• What you let go of will no longer delay you.

In the space created by surrender, God pours fresh oil, fresh vision, and fresh strength for the journey ahead.

Happy New Month...
