There comes a moment in life when you have to make a conscious decision: I will no longer allow what hurt me to become the definition of who I am.
It is time to rise above the wounds, the disappointments, the betrayals, the rejection, the abandonment, the misunderstandings and every experience that tried to convince us that love is something to fear.
It is time to understand Love through the eyes of the Creator of Love Himself — ELOHIM.
If God is Love, then perhaps we have spent too much of our lives trying to understand love through the behaviour of broken people.
- People can misuse love.
- People can manipulate love.
- People can withdraw love.
- People can confuse love with possession, control, lust, dependency, jealousy or fear.
None of those things redefine what Love actually is.
- Love existed before our wounds.
- Love existed before our relationships.
- Love existed before our disappointments.
- Love will exist long after the people who failed to love us have passed through our lives.
The Scriptures tell us:
“...and now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13
I often wonder: if Love is the greatest, why are so many people chasing everything except Love?
- We chase money.
- We chase status.
- We chase validation.
- We chase attention.
- We chase titles.
- We chase people who don't choose us.
- We chase revenge against those who wounded us.
Sometimes, in the process, we lose the very thing that could have healed us:
LOVE.
I have come to understand that:
- Love is not weakness.
- Love is not allowing people to abuse you.
- Love is not tolerating disrespect.
- Love is not abandoning wisdom because you want to appear compassionate.
- Love has boundaries.
- Love has truth.
- Love has discernment.
- Love can correct.
- Love can walk away.
- Love can say no.
Real Love does not simply make people comfortable.
- Sometimes Love confronts.
- Sometimes Love disciplines.
- Sometimes Love releases.
- Sometimes Love tells you, “I love you too much to participate in your destruction.”
This is where my understanding of Love has transformed.
• LOVE IS MY TRADEMARK.
I don't say that because I believe I am better than anyone else. I say it because I have learned that my greatest assignment is not simply to receive Love but to become a vessel through which Love can move. I call myself a master of Love because I have spent years learning how to receive Love from Above and distribute what I receive to those who are starving for it.
- Not the counterfeit love of this world.
- Not love that says, “I will love you if you behave the way I want.”
- Not love that says, “I will bless you as long as you remain beneath me.”
But the kind of Love that reminds a person:
- You were created for more.
- You are not your trauma.
- You are not your rejection.
- You are not your mistakes.
- You are not the opinions people formed about you.
- You are not what happened to you.
- There is still purpose inside you.
Sometimes, all a person needs is for somebody to love them enough to see what they cannot yet see in themselves. That is the Love I distribute.
- The kind that awakens.
- The kind that restores.
- The kind that challenges.
- The kind that gives courage.
- The kind that points people back to their Creator.
When Love comes from above, it does not make you dependent on the person carrying it. It reconnects you to the Source from which it came. That is the difference between me and the rest who are yet to discover Love.
- I don't want to be someone's god.
• I want to remind them that they have a God.
- I don't want people addicted to my love.
• I want them awakened by it.
- I don't want to possess people's lives.
• I want to see them become everything Elohim created them to be.
Perhaps that is what it truly means to love.
- To pour without becoming empty.
- To give without losing yourself.
- To correct without humiliating.
- To forgive without returning to bondage.
- To see beyond someone's present condition and recognise the possibility of their God-given purpose.
So yes…
It is time to rise above the hurt. Not because the hurt wasn't real. But because the hurt does not deserve to become your identity.
- You have survived enough.
- You have learned enough.
- You have cried enough.
- You have carried enough.
Now learn to receive Love from Above again.
- Let Elohim teach you what Love looks like when it is not contaminated by human insecurity.
- Let Love heal what hatred could never heal.
- Let Love mature you instead of making you bitter.
- Let Love become your language.
- Let Love become your discernment.
- Let Love become your strength.
When you have received enough from Above, don't hoard it:
- Distribute it.
- Give it to the wounded.
- Give it to the forgotten.
- Give it to the person who has forgotten who they are.
- Give it to the person who is standing at the edge of giving up on themselves.
- Give it to the child within the adult.
- Give it to the woman who no longer believes she is worthy.
- Give it to the man who has been taught that vulnerability makes him weak.
- Give it to the person who needs one encounter with genuine Love to remember that their life still carries purpose.
Love is not merely something I feel. Love is something I carry and if I am going to leave anything behind in this world, let it be this:
I received Love from the Creator of Love Himself, and I refused to keep it to myself.
- I became a vessel.
- I became a distributor.
- I became an instrument.
...and wherever Love found me…
I allowed it to flow through me and awaken purpose in another human being.
- That is my trademark.
- That is my ministry.
- That is my legacy.
LOVE. ❤️🔥🙏🏾 ©️ Niina Nia Kabesa
